Crystal Palace Ladies secure first Championship win

Crystal Palace secured their first Championship victory of the season – Ashlee Hincks’ first-half strike deciding their clash against London Bees at Hayes Lane on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead early through Hincks’ powerful effort and remained in front at half-time thanks to some confident goalkeeping from Shanell Salgado.

Hincks missed a penalty to make the result safe after a foul on captain Freya Holdaway.

Salgado said: “Next week we need to keep it simple.Sometimes we like to overdo it. We need to play the long ball up, instead of a more 50-50 thing we sometimes end up doing.”
