Crystal Palace loanee Jes Rak-Sakyi looks to Selhurst stars for inspiration during temporary Charlton switch

Crystal Palace loanee Jes Rak-Sakyi says he has kept in close contact with his parent club since making his temporary move to Charlton Athletic.

The 20-year-old winger is on a season-long stay at The Valley but says he still looks up to some of the stars of Selhurst Park for inspiration in his fledgling career.

“[Palace head of loanees] Mark Bright is always calling me and most of the coaches [at Palace] as well,” said Rak-Sakyi. “Some of the lads have been encouraging me and telling me that I’m doing well. Just keep going and hopefully it takes me somewhere next season.

“They’ve got a lot of great attacking players. Wilf [Zaha], Jordan [Ayew], [Eberechi] Eze and [Michael] Olise. Those are players in my position that I really look up to. Hopefully, if I just take their advice and keep working hard, I could be there one day.

“Patrick [Vieira] is a great manager. We always train with the first team. He gets the young lads to train with the first team, so you know there’s an opportunity there. If you just keep working hard and performing, you know the chances will come.”
