Crystal Palace reportedly remove £35m release clause in Michael Olise’s contract
The £35million release clause has been removed from Michael Olise’s contract, according to The Athletic.
It’s reported that the buyout, which had been written into Olise’s deal in the summer of 2021 when he joined from Reading for £8million, has been taken out.
Olise, 20, signed a five-year deal at Selhurst Park and became Patrick Vieira’s first signing as Palace manager.
The French U21 international has four goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances for the South Londoners.
Speaking on where he believes Olise needs to improve his game prior to the 1-0 win over Southampton, Vieira said: “He can score more goals. He has to, and I expect him to score more goals.”
“Sometimes we forget how young he is.
“Coming from the Championship, he has to learn and he still has to learn a lot to be a Premier League player.
“He had a couple of steps back with injuries, but now he is in a really good place and now games will give him the experience, confidence and belief to keep growing as a player.”
