Crystal Palace working on loan deal for Chelsea’s versatile Lewis Hall
Crystal Palace are working on a deal to sign Lewis Hall on loan from Chelsea, the South London Press understands.
Hall looks set to put pen to paper on a new deal at Stamford Bridge before heading out on loan.
The versatile 18-year-old can be deployed at left-back or in midfield.
England U21 international Hall came through Chelsea’s academy and has made 12 appearances for the first team.
He featured 11 times last season and picked up Chelsea’s academy Player of the Season award.
The Eagles have taken Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Patrick Bamford, Loic Remy, Michy Batshuayi and Conor Gallagher on loan from the west Londoners since winning promotion to the Premier League in 2013.
Palace are hopeful that Tyrick Mitchell, who picked up an injury in the 2-1 pre-season defeat to Millonarios, will be fit for the start of the season.
Roy Hodgson’s side kick off their Premier League campaign at newly-promoted Sheffield United next Saturday [August 12].
