Designer hand-makes scrubs for medics during coronavirus crisis
An award-winning couture designer is hand-making scrubs for medics and has raised more than £8,000 in donations to fund the cost of the materials.
Fiona Clare, based in Bridge Lane, Battersea collected two rolls of fabric from the Hackney Londonscrubshub and has been cutting them out and making them up for London hospitals.
She said “We are continually hearing about shortages in the NHS on the news and I want to do something positive to help.
“NHS staff have to change their kit frequently as they overheat, and I am hoping that by making these scrubs it will help front line NHS workers.”
The initiative is being co-ordinated by @londonscrubshub, which is an increasingly large team of home sewers in London, making scrubs to help NHS workers dealing with the Covid-19 infection.
