Former Charlton Athletic defender forced to retire at 28
Former Charlton Athletic defender Harry Lennon has been forced to retire at the age of 28 due to injuries.
Defender Lennon only featured twice for Wrexham this season as Phil Parkinson’s side won promotion to League Two.
A string of injuries have limited Lennon to 19 appearances across two seasons at The Racecourse.
Lennon came through Charlton’s academy and made his first team debut under Chris Powell in the FA Cup fourth-round win at Huddersfield in 2014.
The former Gillingham and Cambridge loanee made 40 appearances during his time at The Valley before moving to Southend United in 2018.
On Lennon’s retirement, Parkinson told the Leader: “It is a real shame for Harry.
“One injury too many has just caught up with him and he’s taken the decision to retire from football.
“Harry is a really good lad and we wish him all the best.”
