Fulham flying high….but manager Marco Silva staying ground

Marco Silva has warned his Fulham side have to stay grounded after a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last night leaves them flying high in the Premier League.

The Whites trailed at the break but scored three times in a devastating six-minute spell through Tosin Adarabioyo, Joao Palhinha and Harrison Reed.

The west Londoners are up to sixth in the table before the Saturday round of matches.

“Some games in the beginning of the season, the first four games, we should get even more points because we deserve it,” said Silva.

“It was a very good reaction from the last defeat against Tottenham, we showed the character and personality that a team should show when you are losing 1-0 at half time. But it is just seven games.

“Now we go for the international break full of confidence. It is a moment for us to rest a little bit but to analyse this game and prepare for the next one ahead because there are a lot of fights ahead of us.

“Even the first half we didn’t deserve to be behind. After we tried, not many, many chances. But the way we prepared for set-pieces was going to be decisive in the match.

“What we spoke to the players about at half-time was more dynamic, more intensity on the ball and that the spaces would appear. We were the best team on the pitch.

“The players have been so open and clear minded to learn and improve every day. We are a unit and working really hard to achieve and do well.

“We came here with belief in ourselves.”
