Hollywood star plans to chop down trees at £10m mansion

Hollywood star Jason Statham risks falling foul of neighbours for planning to chop down trees at his £10million west London mansion.
The Fast and Furious star, 54, is planning a major revamp of his family home in Kensington, which he shares with fiancee Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – and two children.
The couple reportedly bought the historic, four-storey house for £7.5 million in October 2020 and it is now expected to be worth £10.4 million.
The Grade II* listed building sits in a conservation area, which means it is protected under certain laws because it is historically important.
The actor and model have applied for permission from Kensington and Chelsea council to chop down three trees and trim four others, including a protected apple tree.
They also hope to repave the front garden and plant a 1.8-metre high hedge for extra privacy.
Documents show there are no concerns that the trees are decaying or causing any damage to the property.
A report by the couple’s landscaper said: “Proposed planting in the garden has been designed to provide floral and structural interest throughout the year.
“Many of the species are evergreen. Generous bulb planting shall follow in the autumn.
“The planting shall have positive impacts on the property aesthetic and for wildlife.”
Huntington-Whiteley, 34, shared pictures inside the house to Instagram in June with the caption: “Designing my dreams”.
The couple welcomed daughter Isabella to the world in February and they also have a four-year-old son called Jack.
A neighbour complained after the couple applied to chop down a cherry blossom tree on their property last autumn but the council approved the plans.
Kensington and Chelsea Council is expected to make a decision on the future of the couple’s latest plans in the next few months.
