The Baton Awards 2022 – Do you know anyone deserving of a Baton Award?

There is 10 days left to enter the ground-breaking Baton Awards 2022.

Now in its fifth year, it celebrates women of colour’s excellence in business (but not just about business), and champions equality for all.

This year’s award ceremony, on 24th November 2022, is a hybrid event, with in-person ceremony and dinner, at the British Medical Association, Tavistock Square, London, plus online streaming.

Presented by Sky News anchor, Gillian Joseph, it is predicted to surpass previous events, illustrating the growing interest to showcase and celebrate the achievements of women of colour worldwide.

The Baton Awards 2022 aims to celebrate, encourage, inspire and acknowledge achievements in several pioneering fields.

Nominations are invited from all over Britain in 14 categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Third Sector of the Year, Thought Leader of the Year, and STEM trailblazer. There’s also a special category for global submissions.

Event host Gillian Joseph said: “You can’t be what you can’t see, and you can’t aspire to achieve without the example of those who have gone before. The Baton Awards are vital in highlighting those women who have not only excelled, but who motivate the next generation. The baton must and will always be passed on.”

Connecting and celebrating women from diverse racial backgrounds, past, present, and future is the driving force behind the Baton Awards, according to founder, Dr. Diahanne Rhiney, BCAe: “I’m particularly excited about this year’s event because despite the challenges of Covid last year, which has affected the mental wellbeing of many, it has also exposed some impressive women who have achieved amazing things. This event will allow these under-represented women to have the recognition they deserve and also a platform for them to share their incredible work.”

An ‘exceptional’ line-up of women pioneers and trailblazers – past, present, and future, from diverse racial groups, will gather for The Baton Awards 2022, with an equally formidable cast of hosts, judges, and lively entertainment at this year’s awards ceremony.

Every year The Baton Awards raises funds for children’s domestic abuse charity Strength Within Me foundation (S.W.I.M), a pioneering intervention to address domestic abuse among young girls and women.

If you know of someone who has made an outstanding contribution and demonstrated excellence in their field, someone who has paved the way, and who’s strides reflect the ethos of the Batons Awards, nominations are welcome by 15th August 2022.
