Book reviews with Pauline Atkins: 9 Days of Piper Snow Daniella Blechner

Hello South London Book Lovers.

This week’s review is a lovely little children’s book called 9 Days of Piper Snow.

Written by Daniella Blechner an accomplished author of nine books, a founder of Conscious Dreams Publishing, a Book Journey Mentor and she has helped 200 people achieve their dream of writing and publishing their own books, as young as seven years old.

This sweet little illustrated children’s book, written by Daniella Blechner called “9 Days of Piper Snow”, book cover and illustrations by Victor Onyenobi, is available from Conscious Dreams Publishing Bookshop for £10.99.

So let me tell you a little about the book, because this story is based on real life events that are still happening.

Samara’s (Daniella’s) Father died a while back, so she decides to put a photo of him on her bedroom windowsill to mark the one-year anniversary, later that evening she returns to her room to find a white pigeon sitting on her windowsill peering back at her.

Samara is not afraid and rushes to tell her mother, but the pigeon is gone by the time she comes back.

Over the next eight days the pigeon, now called Piper, visits her, he follows her to school and loves being fed sunflower seeds.

Suddenly Piper stops appearing and Samara, once again, becomes very sad and lonely until one day, on her way to school, she sees her old neighbour Mr Miah, and there with him is Piper, Mr Miah explains that Porri (Piper) is his bird and he had been looking for him.

Samara makes a wish that Piper would return one day and a few weeks later Samara’s wish comes true.

The book is based on real events and you will find wonderful images of Daniella, her Father and Piper, who visits her on a very regular basis.

The Miah family have accepted the fact that Piper and Daniella have a very unusual relationship so have granted her shared custody.

You can regularly find Piper, in Daniella’s office, helping Daniella write her books.

A sweet book about loss and unusual friendships.
