Catch this pop-up music venue launched for EFG London Jazz Festival
The EFG London Jazz Festival is currently open for its 32nd annual run.
Europe’s largest city-wide music festival brings audiences together for more than 300 live shows at 60 different venues until November 24.
For the first time in its history, the festival will welcome a new venue, The Jazz Social.
The pop-up venue will open its doors in CityPoint, at the heart of the Culture Mile, on November 11, promising an intimate space to enjoy live performances from world-class musicians.
Primed with a line-up of renowned artists, The Jazz Social will host a huge mix of predominantly free, live music performances including Bill Laurence and Lau Noah, as well as DJ sets and exclusive live radio broadcasts.
Visitors can also look forward to artist signings, family-friendly events, and a pop-up shop from Blue Note Verve, Impulse!, Decca and Universal Music’s ‘Everything Jazz’ offering exclusive deals, rare vinyl and merchandise.
As well as the live music programme, the venue will be home to an all-day cafe and bar, a stone’s throw away from the Barbican Centre – a core venue in the festival.
Pelin Opcin, director of programming at EFG Jazz Festival said: “Every year, the EFG London Jazz Festival makes a huge impact on London’s music scene.
“Whether spotlighting rising talent or bringing together creative work from different cultures, the festival is about sharing incredible music with a passionate community.
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with the Culture Mile this year to create The Jazz Social, our first-ever pop-up venue, ensuring that jazz is not only more accessible, but that we’re embedded in the cultural heart of the City.”
