Creative makers at a Saturday market
Wandsworth Town is set for a creative boost with a new monthly market at Ram Quarter.
From Saturday, October 1, top quality British makers will be showing their skills at Ram Quarter’s Saturday Makers’ Market.
Held as a regular fixture on the first Saturday of every month, with additional dates already in place in the run up to Christmas, the markets will take place in Bubbling Well Square and Ram Quarter’s main boulevard.
Residents and visitors will be able to buy beautiful handmade clothes, accessories, jewellery and artwork from a fantastic mix of around 30 artists and makers.
Drawn from across London and the UK, the wares will include sustainable fashion and unique items from fair trade designers.
The markets will run from 11am to 4.30pm on the first Saturday of each month for the rest of the year.
And with the festive period approaching, two additional markets are in place for November 26 and December 17.
The markets are being managed by Design Led,who hold markets in fashion and lifestyle hots pots such as Dulwich Village and South Molton Street in Mayfair, central London.
Lee Wilson, owner and founder of Design Led, said: “The markets will bring new and distinctive artisan products right to people’s doorsteps.
“Whether it’s an autumn day out with the family, getting a unique gift, or looking to support local creativity and artistic talent, we’ll have something for everyone.
“Ram Quarter is the perfect spot for us thanks to its stunning riverside location and heritage.”
Ram Quarter is on the site of the former Young’s Brewery on the banks of the River Wandle.
