ELB Partners are up for top gong again

An independent London logistics firm is taking on the giants of the industry for a second year in a row after landing a coveted Motor Transport Awards nomination.

Croydon-based ELB Partners has once again been shortlisted in the Urban Operator of the Year category alongside two of the UK’s biggest delivery firms, DPD and Evri.

The awards are seen as the benchmark for excellence among UK road transport fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers and innovators and will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in Park Lane, London on September 6.

The Urban Operator of the Year category recognises the innovative solutions the transport industry has developed to keep UK towns and cities safe, clean and quiet while maintaining strong and resilient supply chains.

ELB, which was nominated in the same category in 2022, recently achieved the Gold standard Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) award for the ninth year in a row.

The family-run logistics specialist, which is a member of the Pallet-Track network, is the only London-based business to hold the award for nine years consecutively.

Peter Eason, managing director of ELB Partners, said: “We’re proud to be the only independent logistics operation to be shortlisted in this category and want to thank our entire team for helping us to get here.

“This nomination recognises our ongoing commitment to improving safety and reducing our impact on the environment, all while maintaining excellent service for our customers.

“We’re already looking forward to the awards night, which will be a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work of everyone at ELB.”

Among the areas ELB has focused on which have helped secure its nomination are its investment in EURO6 engines which are all Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and Direct Vision Standard (DVS) compliant.

The company has invested heavily in camera technology to improve driver vision and protect vulnerable road users.

ELB was established in 1970 as a three-person partnership and Peter bought the business from his father George in 1985.

It now employs around 60 staff and moved to a brand-new 60,000 sq. ft headquarters in Beddington Farm Road in 2021.
