Gathering of the Angels: A one-off celebration of David Lynch

This September a two-day festival will celebrate the works of David Lynch, the director who has taken audiences from sunlit American idylls to surreal dimensions populated by demons, doppelgängers and psychotic killers.

Fans of The Elephant Man, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and Blue Velvet, are invited to A Gathering of the Angels on September 14 and 15, at Camden’s Irish Centre in Camden Square.

With special guests, a resident tattoo artist, a rare big-screen showing of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, live performance from a David Lynch-inspired burlesque group, a secret bar, and panels featuring creators and actors from the Lynch universe – there is alot packed into this 48 hours.

Appearances will include Dana Ashbrook, who played teen heartthrob Bobby Briggs in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Sabrina S. Sutherland, Lynch’s right-hand woman, who has worked with him on multiple projects, including as an executive producer on Twin Peaks the Return, and Lesley Dunlop who starred in The Elephant Man. 

There will also be some special guests – yet to be announced.

Both days will include exclusive access to the Lynch Creatives online panels.

Saturday’s panel is a Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With me special and will welcome Robert Engels, co-writer of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, and music editor Lori Eschler, Ron Garcia, cinematographer and sound designer Douglas Murray.

Sunday’s The Lynch Collaborators lineup will include a panel with cinematographer Peter Deming, whose work featured in Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks: The Return, Debbie Zoller, head of make up for Twin Peaks: The Return and Lost Highway; casting director Johanna Ray, editor Duwayne Dunham and Frederick Elms, cinematographer for Wild at Heart.

There will be music throughout the weekend in the secret bar The Slow Club, recreated from the Blue Velvet set design, which will also host The Great Lynchian Quiz with more events and screenings to be announced.

A Gathering of the Angels will also feature a Lynch Inspired Short Film programme and a residential tattoo artist in the form of acclaimed LA tattooist Lain Freefall, to bring fan’s Lynchian designs to life.
