Greenwich Queen’s House open-air ice rink hosts a festive fun day on November 25

One of the only ice rinks to be within a UNESCO World Heritage Site is returning to Greenwich this festive season on November 23.

Located right in front of the 17th century Queen’s House, the open-air ice rink will be hosting a festive fun day on November 25 with a selection of activities.

Most of which will be provided free of charge including: face painting, crafts, character actors and a live choir performance, though visitors should visit the website for further details.

Open every day from November 23 to January 7 (except Christmas Day), the first sessions will be at 11am and the last skate session starts at 8pm and then from December 22 onwards, skate sessions start at 10am.

Child tickets are £10-£12 and adult tickets are £17-£19 (depending on peak and off-peak sessions) and students can join from £11.90.

The rink will also offer sessions for the more relaxed skating experience or a tiny tots session for smaller skaters who are just getting used to the ice.

But for those who want to take advantage of the festive atmosphere without skating, you can sit in the café or at the side of the rink with a winter warmer.

Why not make a day of it at the Royal Museums Greenwich from the Cutty Sark, to standing on the world-famous Prime Meridian, or you can do some Christmas shopping in the museum shops or at Greenwich Market .
