Half-term leisure activities to banish boredom in Greenwich
From swimming courses to a crawl in the Soft Play, or a fancy dress Halloween Party, leisure centres across Greenwich are gearing up to welcome families during the school half term.
Greenwich’s seven leisure centres and five Adventure Play Centres – operated by Greenwich council and social enterprise GLL under the Better brand – are buzzing with opportunities for family fun from October 28, to November 3.
Keep healthy habits going at Waterfront Leisure centre in Woolwich High Street, where there will be school swim holiday courses running from October 28 to November 1, as well as family fun swims, junior and adult gym sessions.
Across the whole holiday period, Sutcliffe Park Sports centre in Eltham Road, will be hosting Clip n Climb, Soft Play, SEN Soft Play and Gymnastics Short Courses.
Sutcliffe Park will also be putting on a special Halloween Party on October 21, to run throughout the day from 9am until 7pm.
The £15 tickets cover a hot meal, a kids entertainer and soft play, with children advised to turn up in their best fancy dress.
The borough’s five adventure playgrounds offer indoor and outdoors facilities as well as a rang of activities including arts and crafts, table tennis, football and more.
The centres are free and provide a fun, safe environment for children to play, under the supervision of qualified, experienced play workers, with open access which means children are free to come and go as they please.
Better’s Greenwich partnership manager Richard Gallagher said: “Whatever residents need to keep active this half term and banish boredom – we’ve got them covered.
“Whether they want a splash in a pool or take a fitness session in a gym or have spooky Halloween fun – we have a variety of affordable and accessible activities for everyone.”
