Peckham Fringe is paving the way for emerging artists this May

Returning for its third year, Peckham Fringe is back for 2024.

Taking place at Theatre Peckham in Havil Street, Peckham, this performing arts festival will showcase a lineup of more than 20 artists and creatives from the community.

With groundbreaking emerging writers, new musicals and spoken word, it’s the festival for everyone.

Peckham Fringe’s programme has been co-coordinated by Theatre Peckham’s Ambassadors – artists and creatives from Peckham – to platform female writers, global majority voices and neurodiverse stories, alongside an exciting scratch night taking place at the Golden Goose pub.

Kicking off the festival on May 1, is Dominique Davis otherwise known as ‘Variety D’ with her new work in progress Variety D: Misunderstood in the Hood

Taking to the stage on May 24 and 25, The Windrush Warriors will perform a dramatic comedy curated to raise awareness about the Windrush scandal based on true events to explore female experiences..

To finish off the festival on June 7 and 8, winners of VAULT Festivals excellence in diversity and inclusion award, Last Goal Wins will showcase a gripping production following five men trying out for the Nigerian National team.

Peckham Fringe’s project producer, Vikesh Godhwani, said: “Peckham Fringe continues to break barriers for underrepresented artists in a really difficult time for making theatre.

“The variety of our programme is representative of our rich cultural landscape, with work that is both formally inventive and tackles subject matter that is incredibly timely.”
