Southbank Centre’s Winter Market returns for its 10th year
For years the Southbank Centre has drawn crowds from far and wide for its Christmas market.
This year is extra special, as the market celebrates a decade since it first spread that festive feeling across the Thames side stretch of the South Bank.
From November 1 until December 26, expect seasonal goodies, sparkling lights and mulled wine as the Queen’s Walk becomes lined with 20 alpine-style chalets, twinkling lights and pop-ups.
As you walk down, there are savoury plates of truffle burgers, Venezuelan meals, duck wraps, lobster rolls or gourmet cheese toasties on offer as well as winter favourites like toasted marshmallows and churros.
Or grab a mulled wine or hot chocolate while you look at all the different pop-up shops and their gifts, jewellery and decorations. The market is part of the Southbank Centre’s winter festival.
Meanwhile, under Hungerford Bridge, The Curling Club is back bringing its Olympic-themed pop-up to the Thames riverside.
Don your best après-ski looks and competitive spirit for some fun stone-gliding action, or simply watch from the sidelines and enjoy the ski resort-inspired entertainment including singalongs.
Hayley Stevens, commercial operations manager at the Southbank Centre, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Winter Market for its 10th year at the Southbank Centre!
“From handmade crafts and jewellery to street food from around the world, sweet treats and drinks, there is something for everyone.”
