Summer by the River Festival showcases at London Bridge City

A free festival will run for three months next to London Bridge.

Summer by the River Festival is taking place in London Bridge City, the name for the area next to London bridge, the line-up provides something for all musical tastes – from Indie bands, big name artists and grassroots acoustic talent to choirs, DJs and mass karaoke events.

The music will take place at The Scoop, an outdoor sunken amphitheatre with seating for 1,000, as well as Hay’s Galleria, an indoor Grade II listed warehouse building.

The music programme has been curated by Katie Smith from Front Room Songs, but also includes a series of showcase nights led by BBC Introducing, featuring the best emerging talent from the capital and Soho Radio.

Two pop-up bars will also be on hand to satiate festivalgoers.

Katie Smith from Front Room Songs, said: “It’s been a hard few years for live performers and the music industry as a whole, so Summer by the River is a brilliant opportunity for us to showcase and support musicians, whilst introducing Londoners to up-and-coming talent and some well-known names too.

“Our goal is to present a diverse music programme that has something for everyone, representing the best of London and beyond.”
