Workshops, escape rooms and music: South London Gallery celebrates friendship with free event

South London Gallery is offering young South Londoners a chance to celebrate friendship with a free event of games, music and entertainment.

To mark International Day of Friendship on July 30, the Peckham Road gallery is opening its doors to anyone aged between 11 and 15-years-old to get involved with a host of exciting activities.

The event has everything from phone case customisation and jewelry making workshops, to a pop-up escape room, gaming space, dance performances and live DJ sets.

On top of the entertainment, free burgers and milkshakes will also be on offer.

Curated by the youth-led project Asking for a Friend collective, Friend Fest is part of a border programme which explores the impact of friendship on our mental health. The project is supported by Impact on Urban Health and Southwark council.

Head down to South London Gallery in Peckham Road on July 30 to get involved.
