BY PALOMA LACY

London has gone mad for food and drink festivals this summer but it’s only July and they’re running all the way through to October.

We know the Capital has gone clucking crazy for chicken wings and there’s now a festival dedicated to the chicken wings.

Sticky, sweet, chilli, you’ll find all manner of marinades and coatings at www.wingfest.co.uk.

On July 16 and 17, there is great food, live music and chicken-munching competitions thrown in for good measure.

August festivals will tickle beer lovers’s taste buds.

Few drinks say British summer quite like Pimm’s.

The original PIMM’S No.1 Cup is a gin-based spirit with a fruity flavour, made from a secret recipe infusing gin with a delicate combination of herbal botanicals, caramelised orange and warm spices.

Originally blended by James Pimm as an aid to digesting oysters in 1840,

Pimm’s went on to be sent to soldiers at the far edges of the Empire, be served at Queen Victoria’s lunches and ended up making its debut at Wimbledon in 1971, where it remains pride of place today.
