Hooray for Raye

By Sarah Tetteh

A student at Selhurst’s very own Brits School, London lady Raye has certainly done us proud racking up a record-breaking seven nominations for the Brit Awards.

The 26-year-old from Tooting has been flying the flag for South London with her incredible tones that have even drawn comparisons to the late Amy Winehouse.

Fans have been following her chart success and her dancefloor tracks including her duet with Stormzy, The Weekend, which saw them soaring up the charts.

But behind all the glitz and glam, Raye has a huge heart and has been rocking up at Nordoff and Robbins music therapy to surprise the community choir.

I’m told she couldn’t stop smiling when she was there, gave everyone hugs and was blown away by the talent.

What’s not to love about this young queen, we’re rooting for her at the Brit Awards at London’s O2 on Saturday, March 2.
