These LTNs are creating an unwanted two tier borough

I am writing in the strongest terms to protest against the introduction of LTNs which has caused great anger in the local community.

It has Penge Road and Church road, and I suspect other roads, into pollution ridden hot spots.

As a Labour Party member who is NOT part of the car lobby I have seen tangible evidence of the impact on poorer residents who live on Croydon Road.

I have been told residents of Crystal Palace can expect their house prices to rise by 10 per cent.

I can understand why middle class councillors such as Stuart King want cycling areas for himself and his friends but the Labour party should not create a two tier borough.

For those who live in the now congested streets such as Penge Road: They will be at higher risk to diseases linked to pollution They will be at risk due to delayed responses to emergency services.

They will be at risk of traffic incidents People on our street are ordinary working class people who need their cars to commute, they suddenly find their commute is intolerable.

My wife is a health care worker, she cannot cycle around London to visit her clients. I know similar schemes have been stopped in Lewisham, Basingstoke and Levenshulme.

So who is gaining from this in Croydon council?
