Reducing carbon emissions again
Shield Pest Control has been awarded the 2022-2023 certification and successfully entered its 5th year as a recognised Planet Mark certified business by reducing its carbon emissions as a business by -37.9 percent, as well as -28.4 percent per employee in comparison to the previous year, a fantastic achievement for the company.
Royal warrant holder, Shield Pest Control, provides the highest standard of both commercial and domestic pest control services across the UK and its employees have been working hard to improve and reduce its carbon emissions.
By 2050, all businesses within the United Kingdom must be at net zero decarbonisation by law, so this certification and Shield Pest Control’s dedication to understanding its carbon footprint is a great step towards supporting the future.
The Planet Mark certification report analyses the business’ carbon footprint through five sources; buildings, paper, fleet travel, waste, and water, to which all were either reduced or maintained the same between 2022 and 2023.
The biggest reduction of carbon emissions between both years was in fleet travel, where the emissions fell by 36.46 percent.
Shield Pest Control’s managing director, Daniel Steward said on the business’ new certification: “At Shield Pest Control, we are immensely proud to be named a Planet Mark Certified Business.
“This is the fifth year that we have held Planet Mark certification and our business continues to dedicate itself to reducing its carbon footprint to make a difference and aid climate change.
“We are working together with Planet Mark to further engage our stakeholders to take ownership of the impact we can all make on the environment and look forward to continuing this journey and dedicating ourselves to reducing emissions even further in the next year.”
