By Sarah Tetteh

With the nation abuzz with excitement as the first wave of Love Island contestants are announced, the countdown to the summer of love is officially on.

As the new hopefuls pack their suitcases eagerly waiting to board their flights to Spain, their new home for the season with South London’s Stormzy’s missus, Maya Jama, we caught up with a show favourite to find out just what’s in store for the newbies.

Here, South London Press Showbiz catches up with Love Island legend Chyna Mills.

The famous bombshell may have had a time of it while in the villa after her romance with Jay Younger came to an abrupt end, but life couldn’t be more different for her now.

The star has celebrated her biggest achievement yet – being a mum to gorgeous baby Havana, who she shares with Strictly Come Dancing legend Neil Jones.

The pair got engaged while on a romantic holiday to Bali, and Chyna didn’t even realise she was expecting at the time.

Speaking to the South London Press Showbiz at the star-studded The Garflied Movie Premiere at Vue cinema in London’s West End where JLS star Aston Merrygold attended with his wife Sarah, and their brood including their sweet new baby daughter, Chyna looked back fondly on her time on the hit ITV show.

Cradling her sweet baby in her arms, 2022 bombshell Chyna, who looked stunning as she showcased her fabulous Afro hairdo, said: “I had the best time on Love Island. I have such great memories from it.

“My life is so much different now,” she chuckled as she looked lovingly at her child. “I’m so tired all the time, but I’m loving being a mum. I had to step out of the movie to feed her, and I’ve got my nephew here too.”

With her busy schedule of night feeds and nappy changes, Chyna would be forgiven for not tuning in for the night-time show this year.

“Are you kidding? Of course I will be watching. I watch Love Island every year. I still love it.”

Good on her!

The new wave of talent will have a hard act to follow if they are to emulate the success of the reality stars before them like Chyna, Ekin-Su, Molly-Mae ,Tommy Fury and Dani Dyer.

The internet went crazy when Grace Jackson was ‘revealed’ as the first female contestant in this year’s summer Love Island, which will kick off next month.

The model has worked with brands including Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage X Fenty and Fashion Nova.

The second contestant for the summer series of Love Island 2024 has been ‘confirmed’ too.

Welsh rugby hunk Ciaran Davies is reportedly set to jet off to Majorca in the coming days to take part in the ITV2 dating show we’ll all be talking about for the next few weeks.

The South Wales lad, who plays for Welsh Rugby Union team Tondu RFC, has been described as “gorgeous with a fit athletic build that will send the girls in the villa wild”.

Garfield The Movie is out in cinemas on May 24 –  just in time for some half-term fun.
