Share a tapestry of fishing memories with Paul Whitehouse and John Bailey in How We Fish

Paul Whitehouse is coming to theatres to tell us how he became a self styled “fishing detective”.

Paul Whitehouse and Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing consultant John Bailey have been devout fishermen for longer than they care to remember.

Now the two fishermen are going on tour to mark the publication of their new book, How We Fish – The Love, Life, and Joy of the Riverbank.

They will mount the stage to share a tapestry of fishing memories, from philosophy to modern fishing jargon and how they have crafted themselves into self-styled “fishing detectives”.

Mr Whitehouse is a multi-award-winning comedian, actor, and co-star of the BBC show Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, alongside his old friend and fellow comedian Bob Mortimer.

Behind the scenes of the programme, Mr Bailey has been the fishing consultant on the show since it first started in 2018, and is a respected fishing writer, as well as TV broadcaster, photographer, and campaigner.

The TV series has already revealed the comedian’s ability to turn his favourite pastime into something strangely mesmerising and effortlessly funny.

Now in theatres, punctuated by stories and recollections from Mr Whitehouse and Mr Bailey’s past, How We Fish, is set to be a great way to spend an autumn evening in the theatre – calming, funny, and full of the wonders of the riverbank.

The duo will arrive in London on November 13 at the London Lyric Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue.

Each ticket to the tour includes a copy of the book.
