What’s On: On Your Feet at New Wimbledon Theatre

Direct from its run in the West End, On Your Feet arrives in South London, playing at New Wimbledon Theatre on Monday 24th until Saturday 29th February 2020.

The inspiring true love story of 80s pop icons and husband-and-wife duo, Emilio and Gloria Estefan, charts their journey from Cuba to Miami and finally to international superstardom.

Featuring some of the most iconic pops songs of the era, including ‘Rhythm is Gonna Get You’, ‘Conga’, ‘Get On Your Feet’, ‘Don’t Want To Lose You’ and ‘1-2-3’ – the list of songs that had a generation dancing is endless.

But even those who weren’t around in the 80s love the show. As Gloria Estefan explains: “There’s actually a group of fans called The Feeties, who are teenage girls or in their early 20s, who have seen the show, like, 100 times. And there are others who have written to say they were entertained or cried or were reminded of different times in their lives through the songs.

That’s the point of the show – to connect with people on a very human level, which is what we’ve always tried to do through our music. It’s been phenomenal.”

Gloria Estefan has sold over 100 million records worldwide and is the most successful Latin crossover performer in the history of pop music.

In addition to her 38 number 1 hits across the Billboard charts, Gloria recorded the Oscar-nominated song ‘Music of My Heart’ and has received numerous honours and awards over the course of her illustrious career.

Emilio Estefan is a founding member of the pioneering Miami Sound Machine, who created a brand new Latin crossover sound – fusing infectious Cuban rhythms with American pop and disco. Combined, they have won a staggering 26 Grammy awards.
