Afrobeat artist Aneero releases new single Dance Shoes

A Lewisham-based afrobeat artist has released his new single Dance Shoes, bringing the life and party of his native Ghana.

Aneero travelled to the UK from Ghana to create a new life for himself but he never forgot where he came from.

But it was at a party in Stevenage surrounded by South Africans, that he heard and fell in love with the sound of Amapiano.

Feeling that previous afrobeat artists had just come along and put their vocals on Amapiano without embracing it, Aneero knew the importance of championing the music’s cultural roots.

He said: “I wanted something a bit more original from the South that also displayed their culture so I got the original Southern vibe and fused it with afrobeats to make this unique sound.”

A fusion of English, Pidgin English, Twi, and Zulu, Dance Shoes brings together cultures all in the name of a good time.

From its contemporary urban beat through to its party-loving vocals, the single pulls together all the best of its rich history to champion the ever-growing and lively British-African music scene.
