Candela Sound System Launch Party opens at Ministry of Sound bank holiday Sunday

There is no better way to start off your summer than a huge bank holiday party.

Reggaeton and house music have been brought together for a latin-inspired session of rhythms that are spreading across the world right now, the sound of Latinx London.

Candela Sound System will be hosted by the nightclub, Ministry of Sound, in Elephant and Castle on this bank holiday Sunday.

Showcasing the London hybrid of latin music being made by a new generation shaped by the city’s diverse musical influences, artists on the main stage including Georgia Scott alongside Clapham’s rising star Angelo Flow, whose Hot Steppa single reached more then 500,000 plays on YouTube and Spotify.

In room 103, Tropical Explosion will bring the heritage sounds of the hispanic Caribbean salsa, bachata & merengue.

Salsa and merengue were the backbone of the cultural Latino diaspora until the early Noughties.

Today new generations of dancing fanatics and DJs have reincorporated bachata into the mix.

For when you need to take a breather, outside there will be an acoustic set up in the courtyard with latin food and drink specials when you need to take a breather.

The Candela Sound System Launch Party will open from 10pm at Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt Street, Elephant & Castle on Sunday.
