Creekside Festival celebrates with the sounds of electronic and underground

From humble beginnings to the big stage, this radio station has just launched a new festival.

In celebration of their community radio station, AJAA, turning five years old, Samuel Willott and Owen Howells have created Creekside Festival.

This day to night gathering will take place across multiple Deptford venues on September 2.

Mr Willott and Mr Howells said: “We want to celebrate five years in the game with AAJA and what better way to mark the occasion than championing all of the hyperlocal Deptford spaces, businesses and community members which have got us to where AAJA is today.

“Creekside will not only celebrate, but also highlight Deptford’s unique and often endangered cultural spaces.

“The festival will be an intimate, multi-venue, day to night, electronic music festival, with an emphasis on being affordable for all.”

The festival of electronic and underground sounds will be spread across 10 independent music venues including AAJA’s own location, The AAJA Snake Pit, and its neighbours Artworks Courtyard, Little Fait and The Birds Nest, off Creekside Road.

Other venues include Buster Mantis and Villagers in Resolution way, Endeavour in Deptford Broadway, Isla Ray and Stocktons in Deptford High Street.

Each venue will have a set of DJs and hosts picked out by the AAJA team showcasing House and Electro talent, Jungle, Bass, Techno and more.
Tickets are on sale now.
