Festive programme at Greenwich Peninsula from November 29

Greenwich peninsula is kicking off their festive programme, which includes an interactive light installation, Christmas classic film screenings and farmers market, from the end of the month.

From November 29, visitors can experience a dynamic audio-visual experience called Wave.

Created by renowned digital and lighting collective, Squidsoup, the voice and light experience in the form of a wave is made up of around five hundred individual suspended orbs.

Inspired by water, this interactive walkway installation will be at the entrance to the Design District on the Peninsula, the area’s new permanent home for the creative industries.

As part of an ongoing jazz series, there will be a special one-off winter jazz night on December 10.

The concert will be held in Bureau, with guests soon to be announced.

Another favourite will be back with a Christmas twist.

Taking place on Peninsula Square every weekend from December 4 to 19 Flow farmers market brings together the best produce for the winter season.

Acting as a space for the local community to gather, the market brings together local, creative traders of high-quality goods to visitors from near and far.

From homewares, organic meat and fruit and veg, to fresh festive treats for the whole family, Flow offers a little something for everyone.

On the weekends leading up to Christmas, there will be screenings of some classic Christmas favourite films.

Held in the Design District’s C1 building, visitors can enjoy Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas, Narnia: The lion, the witch and the wardrobe, Elf and Love Actually.

For foodies, Design District’s food hub, Canteen, is hosting a range of food and crafts experiences.

Guests can explore festive street food cuisine from around the world, like turkey and cranberry arepas or turkey kati sliders, while taking part in homemade gifting and crafting workshops.

These include wreath making with Bloom East, Chocolate bauble making with BRIK or Handmade card making with College Club.

Festive food offerings start from the end of November throughout December, workshops will take place from December 1 to 19 December and lunchtime workshops will be every weekend throughout December.
