Former children’s laureate Sir Michael Morpurgo to appear at Clapham Book Festival
The Clapham Book Festival is back this autumn with a special celebratory day on Saturday, October 16.
The distinctive and quirky book festival, taking place on Clapham Common Northside, was inaugurated in 2016, and this year’s event is set to include something for everyone.
The Festival Day programme takes in two literary walks around Clapham Common, led by local authors, crime fiction writer Julie Anderson at 2pm and prize-winning novelist Annemarie Neary at 3.30pm.
In addition, there will be two live author events at the Omnibus Theatre. Multiple prize-winner and former children’s laureate Sir Michael Morpurgo will be in conversation about his latest work When Fishes Flew with local bestselling author Buchan.
Followed by historian, radio and TV journalist Ed Stourton who will be trading stories of a life in broadcasting with local author and BAFTA-winning broadcaster Simon Berthon.
Festival-goers will also get a chance to meet the authors and have their books signed.
