Huge new immersive show on misinformation launches in Deptford

Challenge your sense of truth and trust with this brand new immersive exhibition on misinformation.

Arts production company Sage & Jester have announced the world premiere of STOREHOUSE, opening on June 4 at Deptford Storehouse, in Gwen Street.

Within the walls of the former paper store for Rupert Murdoch’s News International group, audiences will step into a world where humanity’s stories have been archived since 1983, the dawn of the internet.

Sage & Jester founder Liana Patarkatsishvili said: “My whole life has been inextricably linked with the media and information ecosystem.

“I have witnessed firsthand the systemic impact of manipulated information on a personal, national and international level. With this awareness comes the need to share that insight and take steps to affect change.”

Informed by rigorous research into information ecosystems, this production is set across a space equivalent to two football fields.

Art, technology, and storytelling are used to confront the powers that shape everyday narratives, and question the very foundation of society.

As visitors navigate this curated underworld, the STOREHOUSE crumbles to reveal the true cost of controlling the public narrative.

Creative researcher Aoife van Linden Tol said: “We have conducted years of desk research as well as original data collection allowing us to gather important insights about how susceptible our audiences are to misinformation and how it affects beliefs, behaviour and decision making, particularly around the major issues of our time.”

The creative team behind STOREHOUSE brings together award winning writers, designers and artists who have worked on award-winning theatre and film productions.

Through STOREHOUSE, Sage & Jester aims to push the boundaries of theatre and build individual and collective resilience in the face of misinformation.

STOREHOUSE runs from Deptford Storehouse, Off New King Street, Grove Street, Deptford, from June 4 until September 20.
