IT MAN formerly The Jacques release their first single White Heat under their new name
A band who tasted early success touring with the Libertines and playing Glastonbury has come back for another round and now they have a new name.
IT MAN, formerly The Jacques, have released their first single under the new name.
White Heat marks a new musical direction for the band after they lost their original bassist before the release of their first album.
In a moving tribute, IT MAN made a statement on their social media ahead of the new release: “Since the formation of the band 8 years ago, our line-up has changed, sometimes amicably but also in ways beyond our control.
“Four years ago,The Four Five Three after spending our early 20s living and touring together.
“These are precious memories of ours and we are grateful for all of the friendship, support and love we have received over the years.”
Premiered by Steve Lamacq as a New Music Fix on his BBC 6 Music show on March 31, White Heat promises to be all things indie and Britpop.
The band who have named themselves after a John Cooper Clark poem will be on the road from May as support for Talk Show, Brix Smith and Menades.
The tour will visit The Lower Third in Denmark Street off Tottenham Court Road on May 28.
