Nine Elms welcomes new festival showcasing world-class pianists

A four-day celebration of the piano will grace Nine Elms next month.

The Piano in the Elms Festival will welcome world-class pianist and composer Julian Joseph and Armenian-British classical pianist Kristina Arakelyan at the World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms.

Running from March 12 to 15, the festival promises to bring the piano to the heart of its community with performance opportunities for talent of all ages from the area, as well as free lessons for young people.

World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens is a state-of-the-art digital music education and concert venue.

Pianos are located throughout the building, including the café which will be open to members of the public to perform throughout the festival.

Sahana Gero, World Heart Beat founder and artistic director said: “With engaging masterclasses and stunning concerts from the creative worlds of jazz and classical music, we’ll also be hosting our first live performances from the intimacy of our café.

“We welcome people of all ages, experience and backgrounds to perform, co-create and to just simply enjoy the music and atmosphere of Piano in the Elms!”
