Overflow Festival takes place at Burgess Park this September

Overflo Festival has announced the 2022 multi-genre festival line up including BbyMutha, Young M.A, Nayana IZ, Lady Shaka, and much more.

Taking place on September 18 at Burgess Park, Walworth, the debut queer celebration will host 10 hours of live music, global DJs stage, workshops, art installations, a queer marketplace, and delicious food stalls.

General tickets are on sale now from £30.

Created by Nadine Noor Ahmad and Naeem Davis, the one-day gathering is a multi-stage event bringing audiences the very best of homegrown and international LGBTQ+, trans, non-binary, black, indigenous and POC talent.

The international line-up champions emblematic sounds and genres from alt hip-hop and dance music to House and Dancehall.

The main stage will play host to the likes of Indian-born, London-raised jazz fused hip hop artist Nayana IZ, South London local, 1990s-style R&B queen Ojerime, Saudi-Arabian drum’n’ bass meets pop artist Alewya, and representing some of the most talented women in hip-hop at the moment BbyMutha, Young M.A.

Stage 2 will be graced with a very special b2b with LSDXOXO and Tygapaw, bringing effortless high energy to the decks is Paris-based Crystallmess, full sets from Cuban-Spanish DJ Toccororo, and Donnie Sunshine, and DJ and indisplinary artist Lady Shaka, who is a part of the iconic New Zealand queer collective FILTH. A few more names are still be to be announced.

Overflo Festival said it aims to provide a liberating escape for the LGBTQ+ and BPoC community including the people who love and support them.
Staff on site will be specially trained and intentional spaces designed with the comfort of typically marginalised festival-goers in mind will also be available.

Nadine Noor Ahmad said: “As curators, we are concerned with queering everything we can, from opportunities to events. Overflo is no different.
“People can expect meaningful curation, unforgettable experiences, care, and to come away feeling nourished and uplifted.”
