Peckham Levels announces 450
At a time when a lot of venues seem to be closing, it is exciting to hear of a new event space opening in South London.
Peckham Levels have announced 450 – a multi-functional venue on Level 5 of what used to be a multi-storey car park.
It will host a programme of live music, parties, brand activations and interactive experiences, within the spheres of culture, arts and gastronomy.
The launch party tomorrow will be curated by SZN Settings – forward thinking event organisers who have worked with many rising UK rap and R&B performers.
The night promises a killer line-up of UK DJs and artists, as well as a headline set by Birmingham MC Kofi Stone.
A spokeswoman for SZN said: “We at SZN Settings are very excited to be in charge of launching the first event at Peckham Levels’ new 450 venue.
“This is the first of many nights we hope to host at Levels as we want to use the space to show our love for the emerging sounds coming from across the UK, as well as the thriving culture that comes with it.
“Having started as two university students who grew up loving hip-hop and R&B, it is a pleasure to be able to now showcase the artists and DJs who we most respect within the sound.”
Peckham Levels promise the space will be a hub for creativity and community spirit in the area.
In the future they intend to work with local musicians, promoters and platforms to bring people together.
The converted car park, comprising seven floors, is something of a secret to those who aren’t local.
Within its confines there is a flourishing world of entrepreneurs and independent traders.
Ceramicists and academics are juxtaposed with magazine publishers and social carers.
One floor above 450 there is a bustling bar and street food area.
A spokesman for Peckham Levels said: “There’s always something to discover here.”
