A free interactive body movement artwork has opened to the public.

Created by immersive experience studio, Pixel Artworks, with visual light artist Rupert Newman, Spaces In-Between enables the public to sync their body movements with an interactive, large-scale digital light artwork on the largest digital canvas in the world.

As visitors move, so will the digital screens making the artwork truly immersive.

The installation opened at the Outernet London, an immersive space in the heart of London, near Tottenham Court Road on 9 th February and will run until September.

‘Spaces In-Between’ consist of three artworks, ‘Tessellations’ and ‘Transcendence’, that will transport visitors through a digital natural world, and ‘A Step Beyond’ an interactive experience where geometric shapes respond to every move of the body.

Mr Newman said: “Through being immersed in fracturing light people can find harmony and balance. Working with such a large space has given me freedom to create at scale for thousands to experience. The result is captivating.”

Dan Alldis, Innovation Lead at Pixel Artworks, co-creators of ‘Spaces In-Between’ said: “Nothing brings us more joy than creating experiences that enable people to take a moment away from the constant hustle and bustle of their everyday lives.

Spaces In-Between proves that breath-taking art can be accessible to everyone and experienced in the most unlikely spaces such as in the heart of busy central London.

“It is an open invitation for anyone to explore a non-traditional art form in a non-traditional way for free.”

The experience will be shown weekdays at 12pm – 2pm, 5pm – 7pm, 8pm-10pm and Saturdays 12pm – 6pm, 8pm – 10pm.
