Renowned street artist opens exhibition in Kensington gallery
An exhibition of paintings and drawings by renowned street artist Miss Van has opened at the Dorothy Circus Gallery in Kensington.
Pale Moonlight Muses runs until May 15 and focuses on the female figure.
Characterised by soft curves, porcelain skin, and long cascading hair, the women portrayed in the series show Miss Van’s battle against the status quo.
The artist asserts a strong sense of emancipation, accepting one’s own body and challenging the establishment.
She said: “These steady, intimate and timeless portraits convey a sense of mystery. Glamorous darkness causes the viewer to dive into the painting and embark on an introspective journey.
“I sketch directly on the canvas to keep the excitement of not knowing how the final painting will look like and enjoy the journey of experimenting in the making.”
