The Bexley Beer Festival is returning for its 13th event in May

Dedicated local beer enthusiasts  have announced. Organised and run by volunteers with support from the not for profit Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), this beer festival has now become an firm fixture in the region’s calendar and is one of the largest, regular annual events organised by volunteers.

There will be more than 90 different types of beers, plus cider to enjoy.

Among the more specialised contributions will be vegetarian and vegan beers from a Swanley brewery called Brew Buddies.

Another local ale producer is Bexley Brewery, based in Erith.

Yet another is No Frills Joe based in Greenhithe. They will be providing a fine Oatmeal Stout and Hefeweizen.

Nearly 2,000 beer enthusiasts attended last year. An additional feature this year will be its backing of the Bexley mayor’s charity, the Bexley and Dartford Branch of Parkinsons UK.

On the Friday at 4pm, the local Camra chairman, Roland Amos, will be sponsoring the charity, having his head and beard shaved.

Bexley Beer Festival will be held in the Dartfordians Community Sports Club War Memorial Club House in Bourne Road, Bexley. May 3 – 5.
