The queer events company taking over Deptford’s Five Bells Pup this February

A queer events company has taken over a Deptford pub for a month-long residency, offering a host of entertainment.

Rooted in the heart of South east London, Treacles organises inclusive events to celebrate FLINTA (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Transgender, and Agender) and QPOC (Queer People of Colour) communities.

From now until February 28, Treacles will light up The Five Bells Pub in New Cross Road, Deptford, with a curated selection of events.

The residency includes a quiz night, ceramics workshops, a games social, queer poetry and karaoke sessions as well as a host of club nights.

Treacles founder, Sox said: “Treacles was born out of a passion to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for the queer community and allies in Southeast London – a place where everyone can truly be themselves and celebrated.

“With the queer venues that once shaped us now gone, we’ve noticed a void in the community we love and cherish. South east London is richly diverse, and we want Treacles to be the space where everyone can unapologetically be themselves.”
