Try out the ice at Streatham’s Olympic-sized rink this festive season

Try out the ice at this Olympic-sized rink this festive season, writes Claudia Lee.

Streatham’s rink in Streatham High Road, Streatham, was first opened in 1931.

Measuring 60 by 30 metres, this huge facility ran for 80 years before getting a much-needed renovation in 2013.

All ages welcome.

It’s part of the Better Leisure Centre group, so you’ll need to download the Streatham Ice and Leisure app to pre-book a public skating session.

At many public sessions, you can learn to skate with one of the centres nationally acclaimed coaches to really hone in on your skating skills or just have fun.

The leisure centre also offers classes in ice hockey – a great day out with a group.
