What’s On: Hege releases new single providing positivity during the pandemic
Pop artist Hege has released an uplifting new single that hopes to provide a positive message during the pandemic.
Up, which is available to stream free from Spotify, is an energising contemporary pop anthem influenced by the likes of Freya Ridings and Sigrid.
With an immediately memorable chorus, strong hooks and motivational positive message, Hege believes the song feels relevant and needed in the world.
Hege said that Up plants her firmly at the cutting edge of contemporary pop music with a thematic focus on gaining personal power through overcoming difficulty.
“Up is a song about overcoming obstacles and rising to new heights after having been through adversity,’ said Hege. “I hope it will be of comfort and inspire people to feel uplifted during these challenging times and to feel hope for the future.”
Musician and writer, Matt Randall, who worked on the new single said: “Working on Up, we wanted to create a feel-good song about reaping the benefits of hard work no matter what.
“As always it has been a joy to work with Hege on this. Hege’s work always feels so raw and personal, and she is never afraid to rise to new challenges. Up reflects that aspect of her personal journey.”
Hege’s debut EP Forces has been likened to that of Tori Amos and Adele with a hint of Sara Bareilles.
Outside of music, Hege says she is passionate about women’s rights and empowering other women.
She has recently launched a live series on Instagram where she has a new guest once a week to discuss relevant topics from creativity to dating and personal development.
