What’s On: Screening of Carmen Jones starring Harry Belafonte and Dorothy Dandridge at the West Norwood Library & Picturehouse

Rhythm & Views + Black Stock Films presents a dazzling Black heritage film, Carmen Jones AND vintage dance performance of 1940s / ’50s dances at West Norwood Library & Picturehouse on 18th January 2020.

Carmen Jones is a dazzling film starring Dorothy Dandridge and Harry Belafonte, the leading Black stars of the 1950s.

There’s an outstanding cast, a passionate storyline, and unforgettable music.

Cheer up dreary January with this uplifting cultural classic.

The film will be shown with a stunning 1940s/’50s vintage dance performance with dance tutors Lora (Tango Heat) and Rosario (Swingout & Shimmy).

PLUS there’s the chance to have a go, if anyone’s  feeling a bit ‘Strictly’, now the show’s off the air!

This event is part of the BFI Musicals season, a nationwide celebration of musical films on the big screen.
