VAULT FESTIVAL
A festival of theatre, comedy, circus, cabaret and other performing arts is in its seventh year and runs until March 17. Highlights for this weekend include an Alcoholics Anonymous-style comedy show, and a show about a Type 1 diabetic teenager and her border collie.
There is also Counting Sheep, until March 29, an immersive protest/party puts audience members right in the middle of the 2014 Kiev Uprising, based on Mark and Marichka Marczyk’s real experiences at a pivotal time for Ukraine.
Belarus Free Theatre has reworked its 2016 Edinburgh fringe hit. You can choose whether you want to have dinner in the heart of the action, or watch from the gallery. Times vary. £25-40.
SEA NOMADS
Photographs by James Morgan offer an insight into the lives of the Bajau Laut, the world’s last true marine nomads, who live mostly at sea in between the Philippines, Horniman Museum (Forest Hill), free, just turn up, January 26-June 23.

Design professionals and buyers haunt the Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair in Battersea Park – a luxurious feast of fine and fun period design, and in January featuring by the colourful specialist rug and textile fair, LARTA. Tickets £10.

HYPER MESH AT ASSEMBLY POINT

Hyper Mesh, a new group show curated by Alice
Bonnot, brings 0together new work from eight international artists – Jonathan Baldock, Pauline Bastard, Fleury Fontaine, Holly Hendry, Jessie Makinson, Morgan Wills and Fani Parali.
There’s painting, sculpture, moving image and performance, looking at how identity could be re-imagined.

BURNS NIGHT AT CUTTY SARK THEATRE
January 25 – This Burns Night, the Cutty Sark Theatre is hosting a special ceilidh to celebrate the work and life of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet from whom the clipper got its name.
Dance in the Sammy Ofer Gallery from 7pm on January 25 with plenty of food, drink and a Highland piper.

ED BANGER RECORDS AT ELECTRIC BRIXTON
January 25 – Electric Brixton hosts electronic music hosted by Parisian label Ed Banger Records, with Vladimir Cauchemar, artist and bandmate Myd and producer Breakbot, organised by former Daft Punk manager Pedro Winter.

PLAYWRITING
Playwright Ursula Rani Sarma leads a playwriting workshop, for people to hone the craft.

FEEL GOOD FREE FILMS
In La La Land, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling play a pianist and actress who fall in love in LA. It’s the latest in Waterloo’s House of Vans’ free feel-good film screening season, which runs until February. Just turn up, 3pm/5.30pm
MINISTRY OF SOUND
Ministry of Sound’s bestselling dance music album The Annual as you’ve never heard it before — performed by the London Concert Orchestra.
