Will William and Harry restore their brotherly love after milestone birthday ?

By Sarah Tetteh

Easily the most famous family on the planet, fans around the world are waiting eagerly to find out what is happening behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace, and will the royal family finally end their rift with Prince Harry?

As he turned 40 this month, Prince Harry’s birthday wish from Prince William is, my sources tell me, the biggest hint yet he will be accepted back into the royal family – ‘ but there’s a long road ahead yet.’

With rumours the pair will meet in New York later this month for the Diana Award, people are now talking more than ever about a reconciliation between London’s most famous brothers.

A royal insider told Showbiz: “There’s nothing King Charles wants more than his two sons to make amends. These are his twilight years, and he wants to enjoy them with his family unified.

“Prince William’s birthday message is a sign that tensions are starting to ease up between the brothers, and there is a way ahead. However Prince William will proceed with caution. There are still wounds to heal after the Oprah interview, but this is certainly a step forward.”

The Royal Family got everyone talking when they made a notable move by extending birthday wishes to Prince Harry via social media as he celebrates his 40th birthday.

The Duke of Sussex, who marked the milestone on Sunday, spent the day with Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie, aged five, and two year old Lilibet.

Plans for the weekend included quality time with friends and family in the States, but there’s also buzz about a potential reconciliatory meeting with his father, King Charles III, during his upcoming visit to the UK.

Their official account posted: “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today! ”  Fans flocked to Instagram to comment, and it certainly met a mixed reaction.

One said: “Happy Birthday 40th!!!!! Family forever.”Another wasn’t so happy and said: “Thanks to the British Royal Family for treating him this way despite all that he has done.

“It’s a magnanimous gesture from the BRF. I hope he grows up now and stops whining.”

Ouch! This public acknowledgment is particularly significant since it’s not common for non-working royals to receive such greetings on the family’s official social media channels.

It’s been three years since Prince Harry last received a birthday shout-out from the Royal Family account, which was back in 2021 when Queen Elizabeth II was still reigning. Similarly, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ account last publicly acknowledged his birthday that same year.

It’s expected that Harry will celebrate his 40th birthday surrounded by family and friends before taking some time off with a group of close buddies.

Wonder if Prince Wills will receive an invite –  or whether he’ll blame the postman…
