Millwall complete deals for Derby County pair

Millwall have signed Scott Malone and Mason Bennett from Derby County.

We exclusively broke the news earlier this week that the Lions were lining up a loan return for their former left-back Malone, 28.

And the South London club also made a breakthrough this week on landing former loanee Bennett, 24, on a permanent basis.

Millwall had a fee agreed when they took Bennett in January but let that lapse as they didn’t feel the sum represented good value due to him still suffering a couple of niggling injuries during his Den stay.

It is understood the new arrangement is much more heavily appearance-based in terms of money heading the Rams’ way.

Malone had three seasons with Millwall before signing for Cardiff City.

He was excellent in an attacking role at Fulham under Slavisa Jokanovic, his displays seeing Huddersfield Town snap him up after promotion to the Premier League.
