Millwall v Stoke City team line-ups: Bodvarsson starts up top for the Lions

Jon Dadi Bodavarsson leads the Millwall attack in today’s Championship opener against Stoke City.

The striker had been away on international duty with Finland and missed last weekend’s 3-1 victory at Crawley Town.

But Matt Smith, who scored in West Sussex, is only on the bench as manager Gary Rowett goes with a 5-2-3 formation. On-loan Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is ruled out along with Mahlon Romeo and Ryan Sandford. Ryan Woods is ineligible to face his parent club.

Billy Mitchell (knee) is also unavailable.

Scott Malone starts at left wing-back while Ryan Leonard will slot in down the other flank. Murray Wallace is shifted into a three-man central defence.

There is no place in the Stoke 18 for former Lions frontman Lee Gregory. But ex-Charlton man Morgan Fox starts for the visitors.

Millwall: Bialkowski, Leonard, Hutchinson, Cooper, M Wallace, Malone, Thompson, Williams, Bennett, J Wallace, Bodvarsson. Subs: Wright, M Wallace, Bradshaw, Smith, Ferguson, Mahoney, Skalak.

Stoke: Davies, Fox, Batth, Vokes, Chester, Obi Mikel, Smith, Martins Indi, Clucas, Powell, Campbell. Subs: Butland, Ince, Brown, Fletcher, Thompson, Tymon, Souttar.
