Man jailed for knifepoint robberies

A man has been jailed as a result of a Met investigation into knifepoint robberies in Westminster.

Junior Pelius Britto, 27, from  Kilburn was jailed for eight years at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday,  May 27, having been found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Officers from the Met’s Operation Venice investigated a series of robberies which occurred in the St John’s Wood area between March and July 2019.

In each of the robberies, a stolen Audi S3 was used to identify and follow potential victims, in particular those wearing high-value watches. Property was stolen from the victims, with a large hunting knife used to threaten them and on occasions an imitation firearm.

Britto was identified as a suspect for eight of the robberies as a result of DNA recovered from the sheath of a hunting knife that had been dropped and left at the scene of a robbery. He was arrested at Gatwick Airport in August 2019 and charged as above.
