A huge splash of colour and cash to benefit a deserving cause

A colourful 5k annual run has raised £15,000 for a hospice provider.

The Colour Run event brought together about 800 participants and raised the healthy total to support vital care services for patients and families.

This year, Community Hospice, supporting people in Greenwich and Bexley, is celebrating 30 years of providing compassionate care.

The event saw people of all ages and abilities join in the fun. Participants were showered with bright colours as they ran, walked and danced through the course, making it a day to remember for everyone involved.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the support we received,” said chief executive Kate Heaps. “The £15,000 raised will help us continue providing essential care and services to our patients and their loved ones.

“We are truly grateful to everyone who took part, volunteered, and sponsored this fantastic event.”

Headline sponsor Jennings & Barrett and key sponsors Freeman Harris, Judge & Priestley, CC Events, and PPL PRS played a crucial role in making the event a success, contributing through sponsorship and active participation.

The Mayor of Bexley, councillor Sue Gower, also attended to show her support for the hospice and the local community.

Community Hospice is a local charity dedicated to providing free, high-quality palliative care and support to local people diagnosed with a terminal illness, their families and professional carers.

Care is provided in people’s homes, care homes, and at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Woolwich). Community Care also oversees a 13-bed inpatient unit in Abbey Wood.
